This tutorial will show you the steps needed to Install PHPMyAdmin on your Debian 8.5 Jessie alongside php7 Machine
In order to follow this tutorial, you will need the following
- Debian 8.5 Machine
- PHP7 WebServer
- Sudo privileges (or root access)
Update Package list
Before installing any new packages, it is always good idea to update your package list. You can do this by typing:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install phpmyadmin php-mbstring php7.0-mbstring php-gettext
After you have done this, you will be asked if you would like to setup the dbconfig-common. If you are doing this for the first time then the answer is probably yes so you can just type that in and press the return key.
Next, you will be asked to enter a password and to then confirm it. You should enter in your current database password. After this, you will also be asked to select the webserver you would like to run this on. This is probably apache2 although you should know which. Type the number of which ever is appropriate and press return.
This should now be installed. You can access this via the IP Address or hostname of your server (Or local host if it is the machine you are currently logged into) using root as your username and password to login.
And thats all!
